Art show holds reception Friday
The third annual group art show, “Sprint into Enterprise” will commence with a reception on Friday, June 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the historic Burnbaugh Building, located at 107 North River St. in Enterprise, next to Friends Restaurant.
Eleven local artists will be featured: W. Reynolds (watercolor and woodcarving), D. Duncan (watercolor), R. Wishart (watercolor), E. Hayes (oil and watercolor), V. Berger (watercolor and sculpture), M. Carman (jewelry and oil), D. Terry (glass), G. Wishart (pottery), L. Pitts (oil), and S. Frye (mixed media and oil).
The space for the show was donated by building owners Doug and Carol Terry, Motley Brew is providing coffee for the reception and the artists are providing other refreshments.
Legion breakfast set for Saturday
American Legion Wallowa Lake Post #157 will host their tenth annual “Oregon Mountain Car Cruise All-You-Can-Eat-Pancake-Breakfast” Saturday, June 12 from 6 to 11 a.m. and Sunday, June 13 from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Legion hall, 104 N. Main St., in Joseph.
The menu includes all-you-can-eat-pancakes, eggs, sausage or ham, coffee and juice. The cost is $5 for adults and $4 for children under age 12.
Lunch will also be served Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. The lunch menu includes all-you-can-eat-tacos (hard or soft shelled) with all the trimmings at a cost of $5 for adults and $4 for children under age 12.

Portland singers to perform
“Sky in the Road,” a Portland-based foursome of singers, musicians, and songwriters will be performing Sunday, June 13 during the 10 a.m. worship service at Joseph United Methodist Church and at 2 p.m. the same day at the Courthouse Gazebo as a benefit for the Enterprise Hometown Improvement Group. The group is also planning a special performance for the residence of the Wallowa Valley Care Center and possibly for diners at Friends Restaurant.
Rahmana and Daniel Rhiger and Mary and Dean Warner make up the group. They performed at the gazebo last September as a benefit for the Enterprise Library. For more information, contact Sharon Sherlock at 541-426-2233.
Lind signs third book Friday
Local author Debbie Lind will have a book signing of Volume Three: Spring of her trilogy “On the Playground Poems Inspired by the Spirit of Children and the Devotion of Teachers” on Friday, June 11 at The Bookloft starting at 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Most of the illustrations in the books are by students from Wallowa Elementary.
