Teresa Sajonia has taken over as manager of the Embers Brewhouse in Joseph.
For the past 15 years Sajonia has been manager of Jerry’s Main St. Market, which is owned by her parents Jerry and Jean Logosz. She will continue to also help out there until the grocery business, which has been put on the market, is sold.
“They are ready to retire,” she said of her parents. Sajonia noted her father has been in the grocery business for 40-odd years and wants to be able to spend more time on the lake fishing.
The Embers, which opened in 1996, is also a family-owned business, and Sajonia has taken over the management position from her brother, Gary, who has moved to Boise, Idaho.
“It’s fantastic. It’s lots of fun. Local customers love it and visitors love it,” said Sajonia of Embers, which specializes in “micro brews, coffee and casual dining.”
It will continue to specialize in pizza and calzone, but the new manager plans to expand the menu with more hamburgers as well as more vegetable items and salads.
She is also expanding the business hours and is hiring a new staff. “It will be open from 11 a.m. to closing, seven days a week,” said Sajonia. “Closing” is at least 8 p.m. “or when there is no more business,” and later on weekends. Reservations will be taken for special events.
Sajonia has other plans for Embers, including more live bands on weekends this summer.
