Generations of Hope dinner slated Feb. 7

Generations of Hope, a nonprofit organization to help victims of terminal genetic diseases and their families, is holding a fund-raising dinner and auction at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at El Bajio Restaurant in Enterprise.

Dinner is $37 per couple pre-purchased ($40 at the door), $18.50 per individual or $7 per child. Send check or money order to Generations of Hope, P.O. Box 832, Joseph OR 97846 or call Traci Rorden, 426-5966. There will be a box of candy at every table and those who attend will receive a box of candy and be eligible for door prizes.

Donated auction items include an autographed Trail Blazers’ basketball (from the 2003-04 season), a Blazer Dancers’ dinner for two in the locker room and four tickets to the March 6 game, an autographed poster of extreme skateboarder Tony Hawk, autographed books by Barbara Kingsolver and much more.

Guest speaker will be Felicity Rorden, who is at risk for inherited Huntington’s disease and will speak on the merits of a camp for at risk children of genetic diseases.

Generations of Hope is hoping to purchase property in Wallowa County for a ranch camp for children and families who are affected by genetic disease.
