The Joseph boys basketball team kicked off its regular season schedule with a decisive 74-23 win over the Union Bobcats on Friday evening. Four Eagles scored in double figures in the contest. Kyle Hook led the Eagles attack with 14 points while teammate Corey Otten scored 12. Other top scorers included Andy Hayes with 11 Cole Lathrop with ten. “The kids played hard defense and shared the ball well,’ said Eagles coach Ron Lathrop.

Joseph rolled to an impressive 42-15 half-time lead before cruising through the second half holding the Bobcats eight total points during the final two periods.

The clash of the Wapiti League titans saw the Imbler Panther defeat the Joseph Eagles 62-45 Saturday night in Imbler. ” We let them have too many second chance shots,” JHS coach Ron Lathrop said. The two teams battled throughout

three quarters with Imbler holding a 43-41 advantage heading into the final period. The Panthers went on a 6-0 run on their way to a 19-4 fourth quarter for the win. Three Imbler player scored in double figures in the contest. Alan O’Donald had 19 points to lead the Panthers. Teammates John McKinnis and Tanner McIntosh contributed 16 and 14 points respectively.

Corey Otten led the Eagles with 17 followed by Cole Lathrop’s 10.
