Norman Werst will celebrate his 80th birthday at home with his wife, AmyLou, and family Sunday, Dec. 20. Werst was born in Wallowa in 1923 and still lives within a quarter of a mile from his original home.

Helping him observe this milestone birthday will be his children, Mark and Connie Werst of Klamath Falls, Kevin and Kim Werst with granddaughter Haley of Astoria, and grandson Jason Werst of La Grande.
