Winterfest this weekend

The annual Winterfest celebration, hosted by the Enterprise Merchants Association, is expected to fill Enterprise with holiday fun and old-fashioned Christmas spirit this weekend.

The festivities will get underway Friday with a Christmas story time for children at the former “Treasures” in the Burnaugh Building on River St. from 4-7 p.m., and evening hay rides with late night shopping to 8 p.m. by participating stores (every Friday before Christmas.)

Saturday is full of events including: Breakfast with Santa at Lear’s, with sittings at 8 and 10 a.m.; from 5 a. m. to midnight, Big Boy Toy Store, from River Street to Depot Street of Main St. blocked; most of day, chili feed by Enterprise sixth grade, courthouse gazebo; about 11 a.m., Christmas tree brought in, decorating by community starts; 4-6 p.m., story time for kids, Burnaugh Building, River St.; 7 p.m. lighting of Christmas tree, immediately followed by the Winterfest Holiday of Lights parade, with community voting on best entries afterward at Wallowa County Chieftain.
