Agnes Fuller

Agnes E. Fuller, 87, of Union, died Jan. 26, 2003 at a La Grande care facility. She was born Sept. 21, 1915, in Promise to Elias Walter “Fisher” and Etta Pearl (Sanner) Lively.
After graduating from Wallowa High School, Mrs. Fuller earned a teaching degree from Eastern Oregon Normal School (now Eastern Oregon University) and taught for over 30 years in such places as Promise, Gordon Creek, Cricket Flat and finally Union. In 1970, she was named an Outstanding Educator of America. She encouraged creativeness and learning, instilled good pioneer values and was known as a person who listened.

Survivors include son LeRoy Fuller and daughter and son-in-law Pam and King Spain, Jr., all of Union; a sister, Opal Pruitt of Portland; a brother, Gene Lively of Springfield; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other relative; and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; brothers Leonard, Elvyn, Jack and Robert Lively, and a sister, Iris Nuxall.
A celebration of life was held at Daniels Chapel of the Valley in La Grande on Feb. 1 with interment following at Hillcrest Cemetery.
