Crestview essay winners earn party for their classes

From among 188 third, fourth and fifth grade student participants in Wallowa County, three were picked as winners of the Crestview Cable Communication essay contest on the subject of “An important lesson I learned in school.”
The winners of the contest were third grader Naomi Manley, fourth grader Josh Turner and fifth grader Natalie Millar, all from Wallowa Elementary School.
Students from Enterprise and Joseph elementary shchools also participated in the contest. Judges were supplied by Fishtrap, Inc., based in Enterprise.
For their efforts the winners, their classmates and their teachers were given a one hour party last Thursday in the Beth Johnson Room.
Linda Cassidy of Crestview Cable said that the teachers from all three schools were very enthusiastic about the contest and hinted that it might become an annual event.
Winners were presented with a certificate and some other small prizes. The winning essays were printed in Crestview Cable advertisements in this paper published Oct. 31, Nov. 7 and Nov. 14.
