Three businesses in Enterprise are included in the 2nd annual Quilt Shop Hop in the Blues event that is taking place all over the region this week.
All quilters in the area are gathering up their friends for a road trip that takes in 13 quilt shops, all offering samples and door prizes. The event started Wednesday of this week and continues through Sunday. All the shops are staying open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., until Sunday when hours are noon-5 p.m.
Wallowa County’s three participating shops, all located in Enterprise, are The UnCommon Thread, Savoies and Country Quilter. The others are located in Hermiston, Pendleton, La Grande and Baker City in Oregon; and Walla Walla, Clarkston and Pomeroy in Washington.
A “passport” is available at each shop and to be eligible for several grand prizes, quilters must visit all 13 of the stores. In addition to the prizes, quilters pick up a piece of fabric and pattern at each store to complete an original wall quilt designed by Julie Lamb of The UnCommon Thread.
Lamb said that the Quilt Shop Hop was very successful last year, with approximately 65-70 quilters taking part.
Anyone interested in taking part is invited to contact one of the local shops for more information.
