Live-stock 2002 music festival Aug. 24

Event organizers are excited to announce the first ever Live-Stock Music Roundup coming up on August 24. The event will feature no less than 17 live music acts.
Performers include Henry Kinsley, national winner of the country music songwriters competition; and Janet Bailey, nominated by the Academy of Western Artists for entertainer of the year and best Western Music album of the year.
Also appearing: rock fusion band “LOOM”; Christian singer/songwriter “Jay Connelly and Soul Renovation”; slack-key guitarist “Uncle” Tommy Kolohe; the “Yellah Dog Blues Band”; alternative rock bands, “Sidetracked” and “Birdhouse”; folk music by “Friends”; old time mountain music band “Wiener Holler”; NE Oregon fiddle champs Len and Tyson Samples; ragtime piano playing by Peter Donovan; rocking country music by “Black Horse” techno dance originals by “Zero Crossing”; Americana by Jennie Snyder; and Middle Eastern dancing by “Badawiya”
CDs and tapes will be available from several of the bands and a live CD will be burnt during the event and available by advance sales only during the event.
Unique to this event is the fact that all performers are from Wallowa County and almost all acts write and perform original music. the music starts at noon Saturday, August 24 and wraps up at 11:00 p.m. that evening. Food and beverages will be available on site, which is at the Wallowa County Fairgrounds in Enterprise. The event has been planned to appeal to families as well as to music lovers of all types.
Three stages will be used to help keep the music rolling nonstop, with professional sound services being provided by SWA Productions of La Grande. Tickets will be available at the gates.
Admission is free for children nine and under, $5 for ages 10-15, and $10 for anyone 16 and older. Organizers advise patrons to bring sunscreen, chairs and shade (the venue has no natural shade).
The performance schedule will not be announced until the opening of the event, organizers advise those wishing to attend to come early, stay late and enjoy a huge variety of high quality musical artistry, good food, beverages and a great time.
